Texas Schools of Architecture

In Texas, eight schools of architecture are accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB ). The NAAB evaluates and recommends educational programs for the basic satisfaction of the most current conditions for accreditation; it accredits the professional programs within schools, not the schools themselves, with an "achievement-oriented performance criteria."

Each campus has a chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS ), an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is "to promote excellence in architectural education, training, and practice; to foster an appreciation of architecture and related disciplines; and to organize architecture students and combine their efforts to advance the art and science of architecture."
